Here’s everything you need to know about the Women’s World Cup this Summer.

When does the tournament start?
The tournament starts on Friday 7 June as hosts France take on South Korea. The final is on Sunday 7 July.

Where will the action take place?
In France. There are nine cities that will host the games: Paris, Lyon, Rennes, Nice, Montpellier, Grenoble, Reims, Le Havre, and Valenciennes. The final will be played in Lyon’s Stade de Lyon.

What time are the games?
It varies. During the Group Stage, there are three games on each day. These will be played at 2 PM, 5 PM and 8 PM. At the Knockout Phase, games will be played between 4.30PM and 8 PM. The final kicks off at 4 PM.

Who is playing?
There are 24 teams playing from six continents. Most of the top 20 ranked teams made it to the tournament, including England, Brazil, Scotland and England.

Who are the favourites?
The USA team are the clear favourites. The USA won the last Women’s World Cup in 2015 and have won the trophy more times than any other country (3). Behind them, England are amongst the favourites for the tournament. Hosts France have never gone beyond a semi-final but hope the home advantage may break that duck. Germany, semi-finalists last time out, are also in the mix.

When do the home nations play?
9 June: England v Scotland, 5PM, Nice
14 June: Japan v Scotland, 2PM, Rennes
14 June: England v Argentina, 8PM, Le Havre
19 June: Japan v England, 8PM, Nice
19 June: Scotland v Argentina, 8PM, Paris

How can I watch it?
BBC Sport will have live coverage of every game throughout the tournament. You can watch on BBC’s TV, radio, the Red Button and online.

Who should I look out for?
Already a legend of the women’s game, Brazil’s Marta has won the world’s top female player a record six times and is the tournament’s leading goal scorer on 15 goals. Aside from veteran Carli Lloyd, USA will rely on Julie Ertz whose intricate passing and scoring ability sets her apart from many, despite being a defensive midfielder/centre back. England will rely on Barcelona forward Toni Duggan and Chelsea’ Fran Kirby to score the goals.

Make sure you’re covered
So, you can ensure you enjoy the atmosphere and have the best time possible, having that peace of mind is key when heading out to France this Summer.
